This is the inaugural post for a blog hosted by yours truly: Adam Harring. There is no telling what I might write about on here, so hold onto your hats. I suppose first off I should mention that nothing posted here is meant to offend or attack anyone's viewpoints. It is quite simply a medium I intend to use to share my thoughts with others and will most likely contain thick sarcastic undertones depending on the day. As I mentioned, the blog will hopefully cover a plethora of topics, and with any luck, foster a breeding ground for dialogue and conversation.
Now that I took care of that general housekeeping, I suppose you may be wondering who I am and desiring a more informative introduction.
Short Introduction: I am a recent graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) seeking employment while living at home. I know what you must be thinking, "Woah, what a catch?! Not only is he unemployed, but he also moved back in with his parents?!" Yes, yes. It's all true. At this point you must be asking yourself, "How can I befriend such an interesting individual?" Why the answer is easy. Simply fill out the below application as honestly as possible and fax it to me at your earliest convenience.
(Just in case you were curious, that was an example of the sarcasm I hinted to earlier. And in the words of our President, Barack Obama, "My fellow Americans, let me be clear," that was not an attempt at self pity. I just don't care to take myself too seriously.)
Alright, enough kidding around now. Back to the short introduction as promised. Since moving back home, I have done three things religiously: play disc golf, submit job applications and attempt to learn the acoustic guitar. Not necessarily in that order of importance... Oh, who am I kidding? It was in that order.
Anyways, moving on. I have two loving parents and a younger sister still in school. My old man is a statistics professor and probably the source for most of my corny humor and fashion sense. My mum is a para-educator for Pre-K children with special needs and serves as a voice of reason in my sometimes chaotic life. That leaves my younger sister, who is a collegiate sophomore studying math. Although it often takes me a few business days to respond to her texts (as I'm sure she could attest) she is my little sis, and I love her.
So that's me in a nutshell--a very small shell at that--most likely a pistachio shell, but a nutshell nonetheless.
I have no intentions of keeping a rigid schedule for when I will post content, but expect it will be something I update as regularly as my creativity allows.
Until next time,
